Tail Lamp: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the rear compartment sill plate.
2. If removing the taillamp for bulb replacement only, go to step 5 at this time.
3. Disconnect the tail lamp connector.
4. Press the grommet out of the rear end panel.
5. Remove the nuts retaining the tail lamp to the body.
6. Remove the tail lamp from the body.
7. Replace failed bulbs if necessary.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. If taillamp was removed for bulb replacement only, go to step 4.
2. Route the tail lamp connector and the grommet through the body.
3. Verify that the grommet is fully seated in the body rear end panel.
4. Install the tail lamp to the body.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

5. Install the nuts that retain the tail lamp to the body.

Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 4.5 N.m (40 lb in).

6. Connect the tail lamp connector.
7. Install the rear compartment sill plate.
