Service Port HVAC: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

TOOLS REQUIRED
J 34611-A Valve Core Remover and Installer




1. Remove the service port valve cap.
2. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging. Service and Repair




3. Remove the service port valve core using J 34611-A.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

IMPORTANT: Lubricate the service port valve core O-ring with 525 refrigerant oil.




1. Install the service port valve core using J 34611-A.




2. Tighten the service port valve core.

Tighten
Tighten the service port valve core to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

3. Evacuate and charge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging. Service and Repair
4. Install the service port valve cap.
5. Test the service port for leaks. Refer to Leak Testing.
