Fuel Range

The DIC calculates and displays the total amount of fuel left since the last reset operation.The DIC uses the average fuel economy times the fuel remaining in the tank to determine this value. The DIC receives an UART message from the PCM. When the fuel level gets low, the word LOW will be displayed on the DIC and it will chime 3 times. The value of this mode is retained during ignition OFF. If the fuel range does not appear in the DIC there is a problem with the UART serial data line.
