Engine Oil Life

The engine oil life parameter is calculated by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and the information is provide to the IPC via class 2 serial data messages. The engine oil life parameter is displayed on the DIC in one of the following formats:
^ OIL LIFE
XXX % NORMAL

^ OIL LIFE
XXX % CHANGE

^ OIL LIFE
CHANGE NOW XXX %

The XXX represents the calculated engine oil life value. The value ranges between 100% and 0%. The oil life is reset to 100% by pressing the RESET button for greater than 5 seconds while the OIL LIFE is displayed.
