Fuel Range
The fuel range is the estimated distance that the vehicle can travel without refueling. This calculation is based on the current fuel economy and fuel level conditions from the previous 40 km (25 mi) of driving. The IPC receives class 2 messages from the PCM indicating the fuel level percent, fuel used, and fuel capacity. The IPC uses the distance information calculated for the odometer display. The fuel range parameter is displayed on the DIC in one of the following formats:^ FUEL RANGE
XXX MI
^ FUEL RANGE
XXX km
The XXX represents the calculated fuel range value. The units of the display correspond to the current IPC setting. The fuel range cannot be reset by the driver. When the fuel range is less than 64 km (40 mi) the DIC displays LOW.
