Tail Lamp: Service and Repair

TAIL LAMP REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the rear compartment sill plate.
2. If removing the tail lamp for bulb replacement only, proceed to step 5 at this time.




3. Disconnect the tail lamp connector.
4. Press the grommet out of the rear end panel.
5. Remove the nuts securing the tail lamp to the body.
6. Remove the tail lamp from the body.
7. Replace failed bulbs if necessary.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. If tail lamp was removed for bulb replacement only, proceed to step 4.




2. Route the tail lamp connector and the grommet through the body.
3. Verify that the grommet is fully seated in the body rear end panel.
4. Install the tail lamp to the body.
5. Install the nuts that secure the tail lamp to the body.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.


Tighten the nuts to 4.5 Nm (40 lb in).

6. Connect the tail lamp connector.
7. Install the rear compartment sill plate.
