Fuel Sender Assembly Replacement

FUEL SENDER ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT

TOOLS REQUIRED
J 45722 Fuel Sender Lock Ring Wrench

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the fuel tank.
2. Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) line from the sender.
3. Disconnect the fuel line from the sender.
4. Reposition the fuel feed and EVAP lines in order to access the lock ring.
5. Rotate the lock ring counterclockwise using the J 45722.

IMPORTANT: Do not all the tool to come in contact with the male pipe ends while unlocking the lock ring.

6. Remove the lock ring (1).
7. Remove the fuel sender assembly (2).
8. Remove and discard the fuel sender O-ring seal.
9. Clean and inspect the fuel sender assembly O-ring seal sealing surfaces.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Position the NEW fuel sender assembly O-ring onto the fuel tank.
2. Install the fuel sender (2) into the fuel tank. Ensure that the tab is in the proper location.
3. Push down the fuel sender and position the lock ring (1) onto the fuel tank.
4. Rotate the lock ring clockwise using the J 45722 until fully seated.

IMPORTANT: Do not all the tool to come in contact with the male pipe ends while locking the lock ring.

5. Connect the fuel line to the sender.
6. Connect the EVAP line to the sender.
7. Install the fuel tank.
