Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure


Notice: Handle the electronic throttle control components carefully. Use cleanliness in order to prevent damage. Do not drop the electronic throttle control components. Do not roughly handle the electronic throttle control components. Do not immerse the electronic throttle control components in cleaning solvents of any type.





1. Remove the left instrument panel (I/P) on the lower closeout insulator panel. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement (Service and Repair) .
2. Disconnect the electrical connector (1) to the accelerator pedal sensor module.
3. Remove the accelerator pedal to steering column support bracket retaining bolts (2).
4. Remove the accelerator pedal.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the accelerator pedal to the steering column support bracket.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

2. Install the accelerator pedal to steering column support bracket retaining bolts (2).

Tighten the accelerator pedal mounting bolts to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

3. Connect the accelerator pedal sensor module electrical connector (1).
4. Inspect for correct carpet fit under the accelerator pedal.
5. If re-programming is required. Refer to Control Module References (Programming and Relearning) .
6. Install the left I/P on the lower closeout insulator panel. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement (Service and Repair) .
