Body Control Module Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair) .
Caution: Refer to SIR Caution (SIR Caution) .
2. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling (Service and Repair) .
3. Remove the left closeout insulator panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side (LHD) (Service and Repair) .
4. Remove the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement (Service and Repair) ..
5. Remove the instrument panel retainer. Refer to Instrument Panel Retainer Replacement (Service and Repair) ..




6. Disconnect the body control module (BCM) electrical connectors (1) from the BCM (2).





Important: Release the lower retaining clips (1), lift the BCM and unhook the upper retaining clip (2).


7. Remove the BCM (3).



Installation Procedure






Important: Locate the upper retaining clip (2) and engage the lower retaining clips (1).


1. Install the BCM (3).




2. Connect the body control module (BCM) electrical connectors (1) to the BCM (2).
3. Install the instrument panel retainer. Refer to Instrument Panel Retainer Replacement (Service and Repair) .
4. Install the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement (Service and Repair) .
5. Install the left closeout insulator panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side (LHD) (Service and Repair) .
Caution: Refer to SIR Caution (SIR Caution) .
6. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling (Service and Repair) .
7. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair) .
