Front Door Window Regulator: Service and Repair

Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the speaker. Refer to Radio Front Side Door Lower Speaker Replacement (Radio Front Side Door Lower Speaker Replacement) .
3. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement (Service and Repair) .
4. Raise and support the window in the full up position.




5. Loosen the window regulator to window glass retaining bolts (1).
6. Support the window glass.
7. Lower the window regulator approximately 1/2 way down.




8. Disconnect the window regulator electrical connector (1).




9. Remove the window regulator to door retaining bolts (1).




10. Remove the window regulator (2) through the large access hole in the door (1).



Installation Procedure





1. Position the window regulator (2) through the large access hole in the door (1).





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

2. Install the window regulator to door retaining bolts (1).

Tighten the bolts to 10 N-m (89 lb in).

3. Remove the support from the window.
4. Lower the window into the window regulator clamps.




5. Connect the window regulator electrical connector (1).
6. Start the vehicle to make sure maximum power to the window motor. This is required to fully seat the window for adjustment.
7. Raise the window to the full up position.




8. Tighten the window regulator to window glass retaining bolts (1).

Tighten the bolts to 8 N-m (71 lb in).

9. Inspect the window for correct operation and a tight seal.
10. Shut off the vehicle.
11. Install the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement (Service and Repair) .
12. Install the speaker. Refer to Radio Front Side Door Lower Speaker Replacement (Radio Front Side Door Lower Speaker Replacement) .
13. Install the door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair) .
