Park Brake Hardware Replacement (Drum Brakes)

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the drum (17). Refer to Brake Drum Replacement (Removal and Replacement).
2. Remove the park brake hardware (7,8,9,10,11,12,13,23,24) with the brake shoes (14,20). Refer to Brake Shoe Replacement (FWD) (Service and Repair).



Installation Procedure





1. Apply Lubriplate(R) Lubricant, GM P/N 1050109 (Canadian P/N 5264008), or the equivalent, to the metal contact points on the backing plate (1) and the adjuster strut (3).
2. Assemble the adjuster strut (2,3,4).




3. Install the park brake hardware (7,8,9,10,11,12,13,23,24) with the shoes. Refer to Brake Shoe Replacement (FWD) (Service and Repair).
4. Install the drum (17). Refer to Brake Drum Replacement (Removal and Replacement).
