Diagnostic Starting Point - Cruise Control

With LV6 FWD

This cruise control system is integrated into the powertrain control module (PCM) and does not have a separate cruise control module.


Begin diagnosis with the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle (Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview). The Diagnostic System Check will provide the following information:

* The identification of the control modules which command the system
* The ability of the control modules to communicate through the serial data circuit
* The identification of any stored diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and their status


The use of the Diagnostic System Check will identify the correct procedure for diagnosing the system and where the procedure is located.


With LV6 AWD and LNK

Begin diagnosis with the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle (Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview). The Diagnostic System Check will provide the following information:

* The identification of the control modules which command the system
* The ability of the control modules to communicate through the serial data circuit
* The identification of any stored diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and their status


This cruise system has self diagnostic capabilities and can display a diagnostic flash code when prompted. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Displaying () and Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Clearing (Diagnostic Trouble Code Clearing) for further information.
