Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair).
2. Disable the driver and passenger side SIR systems. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the I/P center trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Center Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).
4. Remove the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement (Radio Replacement).
5. Remove the front floor console trim plate. Refer to Front Floor Console Trim Plate Replacement (Service and Repair).
6. Remove the steering wheel inflatable restraint. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement (Service and Repair).
7. Remove the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement (Steering Wheel Replacement).
8. Remove the upper and lower steering column covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement (Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement).
9. Remove the head lamp switch assembly. Refer to Headlamp Switch Replacement (Service and Repair).
10. Remove the wiper switch assembly. Refer to Windshield Wiper and Washer Switch Replacement (Service and Repair).
11. Remove the passenger side inflatable restraint. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Instrument Panel Module Replacement (Service and Repair).
12. Remove the I/P cluster trim plate. Refer to Instrument Cluster Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).
13. Remove the I/P cluster assembly. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement (Instrument Cluster Replacement).
14. Remove the windshield garnish moldings. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement (Service and Repair).
15. Remove the left I/P accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement - Left Side (Service and Repair).




16. Remove any necessary connectors.
17. Remove the screws (3) from the upper instrument panel (1).
18. Remove the upper instrument panel (1) by pulling rearward to remove from the tabs (2).



Installation Procedure





1. Install the upper instrument panel assembly (1) to the vehicle. Ensure that the retaining clips (2) are fully engaged. Secure the assembly to the lower instrument panel with the 3 screws (3).
2. Connect any necessary connectors.
3. Install the left I/P accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement - Left Side (Service and Repair).
4. Install the windshield garnish moldings. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement (Service and Repair).
5. Install the I/P cluster assembly. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement (Instrument Cluster Replacement).
6. Install the I/P cluster trim plate. Refer to Instrument Cluster Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).
7. Install the passenger side inflatable restraint. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Instrument Panel Module Replacement (Service and Repair).
8. Install the wiper switch assembly. Refer to Windshield Wiper and Washer Switch Replacement (Service and Repair).
9. Install the head lamp switch assembly. Refer to Headlamp Switch Replacement (Service and Repair).
10. Install the upper and lower steering column covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement (Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement).
11. Install the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement (Steering Wheel Replacement).
12. Install the steering wheel inflatable restraint. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement (Service and Repair).
13. Install the front floor console trim plate. Refer to Front Floor Console Trim Plate Replacement (Service and Repair).
14. Install the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement (Radio Replacement).
15. Install the I/P center trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Center Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).
16. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling (Service and Repair).
17. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair).
