Headlamp: Service and Repair

Headlamp Assembly or Headlamp Bulb Replacement

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Halogen Bulb Caution (Service Precautions).
1. Open the hood.
2. Remove the rubber cover and socket from the headlamp.




3. Release the retainer clip (1) holding the bulb (2) by pressing down and moving the metal retainer away from the composite headlamp (3).
4. Remove the bulb (2) from the composite headlamp (3), if necessary.
5. Remove the front fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (Front Bumper Fascia Replacement).




6. Remove the 3 bolts which secure the composite headlamp.
7. Remove the sidemarker bulb electrical connector.
8. Remove the sidemarker bulb, if necessary.
9. Remove the composite headlamp assembly from vehicle.



Installation Procedure

1. Install the sidemarker bulb to the composite headlamp, if removed.
2. Connect the sidemarker bulb electrical connector.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice .

3. Secure the composite headlamp to the vehicle with the 3 bolts.

Tighten the headlamp mounting bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

4. Install the front fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (Front Bumper Fascia Replacement).




5. Install the headlamp bulb (2) to the composite headlamp (3), if removed.
6. Fasten the headlamp bulb retainer clip (2).
7. Install the socket to the headlamp bulb.
8. Install the rubber cover to the composite headlamp.
9. Aim the headlamps. Refer to Headlamp Aiming (Adjustments).
10. Close the hood.
