Front Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the wheelhousing. Refer to Wheelhouse Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).
Important: The wheel speed sensor is serviceable only as an assembly. Do NOT attempt to service the sensor harness pigtail.



2. Disconnect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector (1).




3. Remove the 2 bolts retaining the wheel speed sensor pigtail harness (1).




4. Remove the wheel speed sensor retaining bolt (1) and remove the wheel speed sensor (2) from the steering knuckle.



Installation Procedure






Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice .

1. Install the wheel speed sensor (2) to the steering knuckle. Secure with 1 bolt.

Tighten the front wheel speed sensor bolt to 8 N.m (71 lb in).





2. Connect the wheel speed wiring harness (1) to the vehicle. Secure with 2 bolts.

Tighten the pigtail harness nut (2) to 8 N.m (71 lb in) and pigtail harness nut (3) to 29 N.m (21 lb ft).





3. Connect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector (1).
4. Install the wheelhousing. Refer to Wheelhouse Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).
5. Perform Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle (Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview).
