Rear Axle Upper Control Arm Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the rear tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair).
3. If the vehicle is equipped with ABS, disconnect the ABS routing harness connectors (1) and position the harness aside. Note the routing for assembly.
4. Remove the upper control arm to support assembly bolt and nut.
5. Remove the upper control arm to knuckle bolt and nut.
6. Remove the upper control arm from the vehicle through the wheelhouse opening.
Installation Procedure
1. Position the upper control arm to the support assembly and knuckle through the wheelhouse opening.
2. Install the upper control arm to knuckle bolt and nut. Hand tighten only.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).
3. Install the upper control arm to support assembly bolt.
* Tighten the upper control arm to support assembly bolt to 60 Nm (44 lb ft) plus 60 degrees.
* Tighten the upper control arm to knuckle bolt to 110 Nm (81 lb ft) plus 70 degrees.
4. If the vehicle is equipped with ABS, route the harness and connect the ABS routing harness connectors (1).
5. Install the rear tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair).
6. Lower the vehicle.
