Rear Bumper Bracket Replacement
Removal Procedure
1.Open the rear compartment lid.
2.Remove the rear compartment floor panel carpet. Refer to Rear Compartment Floor Panel Carpet Replacement .
Warning:Refer to Safety Glasses Warning .
Danger:To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.
3.Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
4.Remove the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement .
5.Remove the rear energy absorber. Refer to Rear Energy Absorber Replacement Rear Energy Absorber Replacement .
6.Remove the rear bumper impact bar. Refer to Rear Bumper Impact Bar Replacement Rear Bumper Impact Bar Replacement .
7.Remove the rear bumper bracket to body retaining bolts (3).
8.Remove the rear bumper bracket (1) from the cavity in the end of the rear chassis rail (2).
Installation Procedure
1.Install the rear bumper bracket (1) into the cavity in the end of the rear chassis rail (2).
Caution:Refer to Fastener Caution .
2.Install the rear bumper bracket to body retaining bolts (3) and tighten to60 N �m (44 lb ft).
3.Install the rear bumper impact bar. Refer to Rear Bumper Impact Bar Replacement Rear Bumper Impact Bar Replacement .
4.Install the rear energy absorber. Refer to Rear Energy Absorber Replacement Rear Energy Absorber Replacement .
5.Install the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement .
6.Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
7.Install rear compartment floor panel carpet. Refer to Rear Compartment Floor Panel Carpet Replacement .
8.Remove the suitable brace and close the rear compartment lid.
