Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Partially drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE-47716) (Service and Repair)Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill-LNF) (Service and Repair)Cooling System Draining and Filling (2.4L LE5) (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the heat shield from the around the electrical connector, if necessary.
3. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (3) from the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor.




4. Remove the ECT.

Installation Procedure





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

1. Install the ECT and tighten to 20 Nm (15 lb ft).




2. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (3) to the ECT sensor.
3. Install the heat shield around the electrical connector, if necessary.
4. Fill the cooling system as needed. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE-47716) (Service and Repair)Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill-LNF) (Service and Repair)Cooling System Draining and Filling (2.4L LE5) (Service and Repair).
