Operation

Electric Top

Information: The electric top may be operated only on a stopped car.

Do not operate the top in case of an onesidedly parked car, for example on an extremely high curbstone. First drive car oft of the curbstone.

The top may not be operated when the car is lifted with a jack or a lifting platform.


Lowering Top




1. Take both operating handles out of the glovebox and insert them in the take-ups provided in the front roof frame on the left and right sides. The handles must face out after insertion (see function sketch above the lock operation).

a. Turn handles about 60° until they face down.

b. Pull off operating handles.

c. Turn ignition key to "radio" ignition lock position.




d. Operate switch in the center console without interruption whenever possible until the top reaches the final position.


Raising Top

1. Turn ignition key to "radio" ignition lock position.

a. Operate switch in the center console without interruption whenever possible until the top reaches the final position. This will also lower the door windows several centimeters.




b. Insert both operating handles.

c. Lock the top by pulling the top down on a handle plate with one hand and turning the handle toward the outside against the stop. Repeat these procedures on the other side (see function sketch above the lock operation).

d. Pull off and place both operating handles in the glove box.

e. Raise both door windows.
