Test Point 18 - Fuel Pressure

WARNING: Escaping fuel could ignite if engine is hot. Surround area with rags to catch any fuel and depressurize system by removing fuel pump fuse and running until engine stops.

1. Remove capped nut on test connection, being careful not to lose sealing ball.
2. Connect suitable pressure gauge to test connection.
3. Start engine and measure fuel pressure at idle.

Pressure should be approx. 48 psi (3.3 bar)

4. Pull vacuum hose from fuel pressure regulator and observe gauge.

Pressure should be approx. 55 psi (3.8 bar)


Fuel System Leak Test:






5. Perform leak test. If either step 3 or 4 produced lower than normal results and passes leak test, replace fuel pump.
6. If step 3 provided higher than normal results, replace fuel pressure regulator.
