** As of March 1991, the sealing ring at the adjustable mating bearing screw is omitted. To seal, Loctite 222 is applied.

Assembly
1. Fit bleeder in correct position and tighten with 35 Nm (26 ft lb).

NOTE: The hole in the hexagon head of the bleeder must point towards the front viewed from the driving seat (towards the intermediate case).





A = Boot

2. Apply light film of oil to the boot and press Into position with suitable piece of tubing (e.g. VW 418 a).

NOTE: If the sealing gaiter is leaking, always renew the slave cylinder.
