Disassembly/Assembly of the Gear Set


Partially Disassembling the Gear Set

Gear Set:

1 = Shift rod 314
2 = Lock
3 = Shift rod 51R

Lock Assembly
- Observe installation position of locks.

Disassembly/Assembly of the Input Shaft

Disassembly
- Clamp retaining plate 9177 in the vice, insert input shaft and undo collar nut with Special Tool 9105.





- Remove all parts from the Input shaft by pressing off with suitable separating device (e.g. Kukko 17-1).





Assembly

NOTE: All components must be fitted onto the input shaft dry to ensure that no oil penetrates between the contact surfaces.

- Fit driver dogs for synchronization in correct position (curved side towards gear shift sleeve).





1 = Gearshift sleeve
2 Driver dog
3 = Guide sleeve
4 = dotting mark
5 = Installation position

- Installation position of gearshift sleeve. The dotting mark must be fined centrally in relation to the driver dogs.





- Check synchronizing disks by pressing onto the cones of the gear wheels and measuring gap "A" with a feeler gauge.
^ Installation dimension: (new) = min. 0.9 mm
^ Wear limit = O.6...O.7 mm





- Tighten collar nut with 250 Nm (184.5 ft lb) and notch collar to secure.

- Observe installation position of locks.
