Air Temperature Sensor ( Ambient / Intake ): Description and Operation

Intake Air Temperature Sensor:

PURPOSE
The sensor is fitted to detect excessively high intake air temperatures. The signal is used by EZ ignition control unit to calculate ignition timing.

OPERATION AND LOCATION
A PTC (positive temperature coefficient) temperature sensor is fitted to the intake air intercooler. If intake temperatures are excessively high, the firing angle is retarded by the control unit by 2.8°, from a pressure of 1250 mbar at the pressure sensor.
