Monitoring Speed and Fuel Use

On-board computer
With the ignition switched on, the on-board computer (M - 659) is operated using the steering column lever.

The function display is located below the tachometer. The displays can be switched between ROW and USA/CB units.

Remaining range
The remaining range is continuously recalculated during the journey. It is based on fuel-tank contents, and current and average fuel consumption. The more the tank content reduces, the more spontaneously the display reacts. For this reason, ranges below 9.3 miles/15 kilometers are not displayed. Varying vehicle tilt during the journey or refuelling may temporarily result in inaccurate remaining range data.



Speed gong (Symbol > km/h)
When the set speed is exceeded, the audible gong signal is given. At the same time, this speed is displayed for 3 seconds.

The vehicle speed must drop at least 3 MPH/5 km/h below this threshold before the signal is given again when the set speed is exceeded.

Activation during journey
- Briefly pushing the operating lever forwards displays the current vehicle speed. This speed is then used as the threshold.

Activation with stationary vehicle or during journey
- Push the operating lever forwards and hold in position for longer than 1 second. The speed display flashes.
- Move the operating lever up or down to set the desired speed. Hold the operating lever up or down for fast adjustment of the speed display.
- Set the flashing value by briefly pushing the operating lever forwards.







Deactivating gong signal
- Pull the operating lever and hold in position for longer than 1 second.
Reactivating the value last stored:
- Pushing the operating lever forwards and holding in position for more than 1 second. The speed display flashes.
- Briefly push the operating lever forwards again.

Average consumption/average speed
The displayed values are based on the distance driven since the displays were last set to "zero".

Resetting displays to "zero"
- Select the appropriate function
- Pull the operating lever and hold in position of longer than 1 second

The starting point for measurement can be set before or during the journey.

Switching off the ignition does not reset the measurements. However, the values can also be determined over relatively long periods.
