Warning Lamps and Acoustics

To allow the lamps to be checked, all of the lamps are activated when the ignition is switched on. After 30 seconds, the lamps activated by the instrument cluster are switched off due to temperature-related reasons. Lamps directly activated by other control modules or switches may remain lit.

The following warning lamps are deactivated after 30 seconds:
- Retractable spoiler
- Brake-pad wear
- Brake fluid
- Oil-pressure indicator lamp
- Washing-water level
- Cooling system
- Low-fuel indicator lamp

Cooling system warning lamp
The coolant warning is combined with the "engine compartment blower faulty" warning.

- Temperature warning ->Lit continuously from
approx. 120 °C
- Coolant level warning ->Lamp flashes; the actual
coolant temperature is displayed.
Engine compartment
blower faults ->Lamp flashes

Continued illumination of displays
When the ignition has been switched off but the ignition key is not removed, the displays remain lit. If the ignition key is removed, the displays are switched off after 4 minutes.

Activation of the display without the ignition key is possible by:
- switching on the lamp
- pressing the reset button for the odometer
- pressing the clock setting button

If the ignition key is not inserted, the displays are again switched off after 4 minutes.
