Timing Chain Out Of Position, Bank 1 - Above Upper Limit

Function
When the engine is started and the reference mark has been recognized, the control module adapts the camshaft signal with respect to the reference mark, i.e. the software compensates for deviations from a fixed value by angle shifts. If these adaptation values reach their limits, the fault timing chain out of position is recognized.

Diagnosis conditions
- Idle speed.
- Reference mark recognized.
- Engine speed [<] 1200 rpm.
- Engine temperature [>] 60 °C.
- No fault in camshaft position sensors.
- Reference mark OK.
- No fault in camshaft adjustment.
- No fault in engine temperature.

P1324-P1340:

NOTE: This fault can be stored only if the engine was disassembled and the allocation of the outlet camshaft to the inlet camshaft was incorrectly set.
