Squeaking/clicking noises at the rear side window, forward edge.

Information:
In order to prevent noises in the rear side/door window area, a new "flocked" seal is installed from September 3,1998, and VIN: 99 9XS 65 1990.

If a customer of a vehicle produced prior to the above production date has a "Squeaking/clicking noise" complaint in the rear side/door window area, the new "flocked" seal should be installed.

Work Procedure:

Remove and install the seal according to the specifications in the 911 Carrera (996) Technical Manual; Repair - Group 6, Page 64-49. (Supplement)

Note:
Loctite 480 , Loctite 424, Sicomet 8300, or a commercially available equivalent adhesive can be used when installing the new seal.
