P0112

P0112
Intake Air Temperature Circuit - Low In put.
Intake Air Temperature Sensor, below lower limit.

P0113
Intake Air Temperature Circuit - High Input
Intake Air Temperature Sensor, above upper limit

Function:
The Intake Air Temperature Sensor measures the temperature of the intake air. It consists of a variable resistor.
The Intake Air Temperature Sensor is integrated in the mass air flow sensor.

Diagnostic Condition:

P0112
Intake air temperature lower than -42°C and 180 seconds after engine start-up, 10 seconds idling, no load interruption.

P0113
Intake air temperature higher than 140°C.

NOTE: A substitute value (20°C) is used in the event of a fault.

Diagnostic Procedure:

DTC P0112:

DTC P0113:

1. Check Intake Air Temperature Sensor in mass air flow sensor.
1. Remove mass air flow sensor connector.
2. Connect ohmmeter to mass air flow sensor, pins 1 and 3.

Specified Value: 2.3 - 2.7 kOhms at 20°C.

2. Check wiring from ECM to Intake Air Temperature Sensor for continuity.
1. Remove mass air flow sensor connector.
2. Connect special tool 9616 to wiring harness.
3. Connect ohmmeter to special tool 9616, pin 15 and mass air flow sensor connector, pin 1.

Specified Value: 0 - 5 Ohms.

If meter reads infinity Ohms, check wiring harness for chafing and pinching damage.

3. Check wiring between ECM and Intake Air Temperature Sensor for short circuit to ground.
1. Remove mass air flow sensor connector.
2. Connect special tool 9616 to wiring harness.
3. Connect ohmmeter to special tool 9616, pin 15 and to ground.

Specified Value: Infinity Ohms.

If meter reads 0 - 5 Ohms, check wiring harness for chafing and pinching damage.

4. Check wiring from ECM to Intake Air Temperature Sensor for short circuit to B+.
1. Remove mass air flow sensor connector.
2. Connect special tool 9616 to wiring harness.
3. Switch ignition on.
4. Connect voltmeter to special tool 9616, pin 15 (plus) and to ground (minus).

Specified Value: 0 Volt.

If meter reads battery voltage, check wiring harness for chafing and pinching damage.
