Injector Circuit Cylinder 1 - Short to B+.

Function:
The coil of the fuel injector is supplied on one side with B+ (battery voltage) and on the other with ground via an end stage of the ECM.
For these faults the connection to ground is monitored.

Diagnostic Conditions:
A fault is recognized and stored in memory when the engine speed is above 80 rpm and the battery voltage is between 7.5 Volt and 17 Volt.

Diagnostic Procedure:



1. Check fuel injector.
1. Remove connector of injector 1.
2. Connect ohmmeter to pin 1 and pin 2 of injector.

Specified Value: 11 - 13 Ohms at 20°C.

2. Check wiring.
1. Connect special tool 9616 to wiring harness.
2. Remove connector on fuel injector.
3. Connect ohmmeter to special tool 9616 pin 3 and fuel injector connector pin 2.

Specified Value: 0 - 5 ms.

4. Connect ohmmeter to special tool 9616 pin 3 and ground.

Specified Value: Infinite Ohms.

5. Connect voltmeter to special tool 9616 pin 3 and ground.
Ignition on.

Specified Value: 0 Volt.

If the measured values are not achieved, check wiring harness for chafing and pinching damage.
