Audio CD read error
Diagnostic conditions
- Ignition on
- PCM2/CDR23 on
- Functional audio CD inserted correctly in CD changer
- Start CD changer
NOTE:
- Fault code 8003 is recorded in the PCM2 MMI if the operating buttons are actuated for '≥ 1 minute'.
- Deactivate the 'automatic traffic announcement' before performing the diagnosis on the PCM2. If this is not done, the diagnosis will abort (applies only to software version < 03).
Possible cause of fault
- Audio CD damaged or inserted incorrectly (label up)
- No audio CD inserted (data CD)
- Audio CD dirty, scratched or damp
- Insufficient power supply
- Glass fuse in CD changer faulty
- Wake-up/diagnosis lead (open circuit, short circuit, short to B+, short to ground)
- MOST switch closed
- External amplifier (if installed) - no power supply
- Telephone/telematics (if installed) - no power supply

- The MOST optical waveguide is connected to the following control modules:
- PCM2
- CD changer
- Amplifier
- Telephone/telematics
