Service Procedure

Installation:

1. Preparation.

1.1 Open the covers of the holders in the roof channels. To do so, press down the bar which can be seen on the flap (figure 2, arrow). The flap then tilts from the horizontal to the vertical position, and the holder beneath it for the adapter becomes visible.

1.2 With the slotted screwdriver, remove the stud bolt from the holder and keep in a safe place.

1.3 Position the supports on the flaps in such a way that the arrow in the support points in the direction of travel.
Note the markings on the supports:

Rear supports - marked with an arrow and a dot (figure 3, pos. A)
Front supports - marked only with an arrow.

2. Fitting the RTS.

2.1 Fit the adapters (figure 3, pos. B).

2.1.1 Push the adapter into the holder so that it is positively locked and insert the pre-assembled M6 x 40 pan-head screw, which is secured with an O-ring. Line up the support (pos. A) with the adapter (pos. B).

2.1.2 Screw all 4 adapters firmly to the vehicle with the Allen key (pos. C).

2.2 Fit the legs (pos. D) and supporting pipe (pos. E) onto the adapters.

2.2.1 Open the cap of the lock barrel on the locking handles (pos. F), unlock the handles and withdraw from the supporting pipes as far as the stop.

2.2.2 Position the legs, which are loosely screwed onto the supporting pipe, on the adapters. The front and rear supporting pipes each have a sticker on the underside, which indicates which pipe is for the front and which for the rear.

2.2.3 Firmly fasten the legs to the adapters using the pre-assembled M6 x 60 pan-head screws.

2.3 Remove the rubber strip (pos. G) from the groove in the supporting pipe and keep in a safe place. Firmly fasten the supporting pipes which are loosely attached to the legs. To do so, tighten the 8 pan-head screws with M6 x 12 hexagon socket.

Important:
This work step is only necessary when fitting the RTS for the first time, or when fitting it on a different vehicle of the same type.

2.4 Push the locking handles into the ends of the supporting pipes, lock, and fit the caps on the lock barrels. The RTS and any add-on modules are now secure against unauthorized tampering.

2.5 Pull the rubber strips into the groove in the supporting pipes.

3. Dismantling the RTS.

3.1 Unlock the locking handles and pull out of the supporting pipes as far as the stop.

3.2 Remove the rubber strips from the groove in the supporting pipe and detach the legs from the adapters. During disassembly, the legs remain tightly screwed to the supporting pipe (see item 2.3) and can be removed from the vehicle together.

3.3 Using the Allen key, dismantle all 4 adapters, and remove the supports from the flaps.

3.4 To ensure protection against corrosion, screw all 4 stud bolts into the holders and then close the flaps in the roof channels.

3.5 Pack all parts away.
