Information:
A roof transport system (RTS) was developed for the 911 Targa (996). Safe transport of items is made possible with this Roof Transport System and the further add-on modules (e.g. ski rack, snowboard carrier, bicycle carrier, surfboard holder or roof box)

Danger of accident (death/danger to yourself and/or other road users!) - as a result of losing the Roof Transport System or individual add-on modules.
> Regularly check the Roof Transport System and add-on modules before each trip and during an extended trips to ensure it is seated correctly securely on the vehicle.

Danger of accident (death/danger to yourself and/or other road users!) - as a result of changed handling (higher center of gravity and larger area exposed to the wind) when the Roof Transport System is installed, and especially when loaded.
> Adapt driving style accordingly.
> Observe speed instructions and general information on the topic "Roof Transport System" in the Owner's Manual of the vehicle.
> If the Roof Transport System and add-on modules are not in use, they should be completely removed from the vehicle in the interest of driving comfort (noise level) and fuel economy.

Danger of accident (death/danger to yourself and/or other road users!) - as a result of improper loading of the Roof Transport System and/or add-on modules.
> Load the Roof Transport System and/or add-on modules so that the load does not project beyond the sides of the Roof Transport System.
> Select the distances between the add-on modules fitted next to each other so that the transported items cannot bump against each other during while vehicle is moving.
> The center-of-gravity of the load should be as low as possible in relation to the Roof Transport System. Distribute the load evenly on the loading surface.
> Secure load sufficiently to prevent it from shifting while driving.
Caution!
Damage to the vehicle roof and/or Roof Transport System - as a result of disregarding modified total height of vehicle or as a result of cleaning vehicle in a car wash.
> Observe the new total height of vehicle with installed Roof Transport System before entering of parking garages, (underground) garages, and tunnels.
Completely remove the Roof Transport System from vehicle before washing the vehicle in a car wash.
Caution!
Damage to the vehicle roof and/or Roof Transport System - as a result of disregarding installation instructions.
> When loading the Roof Transport System, make sure that long items do not impair the opening range of the rear lid.
> Before fitting the Roof Transport System, make sure that the vehicle roof in the fitting area is clean. Observe the installation procedure for the first or subsequent fitting!
