This bulletin replaces bulletin Group 3, # 2/00, Dated 6-30-00. Replace bulletin in the 911 Turbo (996) Technical Manual and affix the attached decal across page 92 of Technical Bulletin Book Q.

Concern:
Approval for manual-transmission repair work on manual transmission G96/50 (for series and I No. X 50), including assembly work on installed or removed manual transmission.

Information:
The repair work listed in the 911 Turbo (996) Technical Manual, Group 3, Manual Transmission Repair, e.g. disassembling and assembling the transmission, are approved for the 911 Turbo beginning immediately.

Warranty Info:
We wish to point out that our warranty will be rendered null and void...

- if repair work is performed on the transmission and this work is not described in the Technical Manual.

- if parts that are not approved for the 911 Turbo (996) are used in repair work.

Repairs:
Loose gearwheels/fixed gearwheels:

Loose gearwheels may be replaced individually in case of repairs, i.e. without the associated fixed gearwheel, up to a transmission mileage of 12,000 Miles/20,000 km.

If the transmission mileage exceeds 12,000 Miles/20,000 km,

- the gearwheel pair, i.e. the associated fixed gearwheel as well, must be replaced.

- the entire transmission must be replaced if 1st and/or 2nd gear is affected.
