Removing convertible-top compartment lid drive gear
1. Move convertible top to service position. Refer to Removing and installing convertible top.
2. Remove motor for convertible-top compartment lid drive. Refer to Removing and installing convertible-top compartment lid drive.
3. Remove microswitch for convertible-top compartment lid. Refer to Removing and installing microswitch for convertible-top compartment lid.
4. Loosen Bowden cable -1- at the hexagon nut -2- and lift nipple out of the drive -3-.
5. Remove fastening clip -4- with removal tool and detach drive lever -5-.
6. Undo fastening screws -6- and deflector rail -7-.
7. Undo fastening screws -6- and remove drive -3-.
Installing convertible-top compartment lid drive gear
1. Position drive -3- in middle of frame and secure with fastening screws -6-.
2. Position deflector rail -7- on the hinge and secure with fastening screws -6-.
3. Position drive lever -5- on latching hook and clip into fastening clip -4-.
4. Insert nipple in the drive -3- and set Bowden cable -1- free of play with the hexagon nut -2-.
5. Install microswitch for convertible-top compartment lid. Refer to Removing and installing convertible-top compartment lid drive.
6. Install motor for convertible-top compartment lid drive. Refer to Removing and installing microswitch for convertible-top compartment lid.
7. Calibrate convertible top.
Calibrating the convertible top
INFORMATION: The convertible top opens and closes automatically during convertible-top calibration with the Porsche System Tester. Calibration can be started irrespective of whether the convertible top is open or closed. The latching hook in roof frame 1 does not close during calibration. There must not be any objects in or on the convertible top to obstruct this.
1. Connect and switch on the Porsche System Tester.
2. Switch on ignition.
3. Select menu item "Convertible top". Select menu item "Calibrate" in the command line which then appears.
4. Start calibration with the F7 key.
