P0743

Solenoid valve torque converter

Faults in the wiring, connectors, output stage and the PWM valve should be detected.

NOTE: The redundancy transistor is switched off. The setpoint values of the current regulator are set to 0 and all change-over valves are switched off. The control module is then in emergency operation. Minimal cycle is additionally activated.

Diagnosis conditions
- Ignition on
- Redundancy transistor on
- Short circuit to ground/voltage or interruption of the output stage
- Duty cycle hydraulic PWM > 94 % (torque converter clutch is closed) or selector lever in position "P" or "N".

Possible fault cause
- Connection to Tiptronic control module is faulty
- PWM solenoid valve faulty

Affected terminals
Terminal 17

Diagnosis/Troubleshooting

NOTE:
If the fault codes 2 (P0753) solenoid 1-2/4-5 shift, 3 (P0758) solenoid valve 2-3 shift, 4 (P0763) solenoid valve 3-4 shift and 5 (P0743) torque converter solenoid valve are displayed together, an open circuit in the circuit to the control module terminal 38 may be present.
