Tiptronic System G50
P0758
Solenoid valve 2 - Open circuit/short circuit to ground, short circuit to B+
Function
The solenoid valves are accommodated on the valve chamber. They control the function of the automatic transmission via the electronic transmission control system.
Diagnosis conditions
- Ignition on (only for short circuit to B+)
- Vehicle driving (all fault types)

Diagnosis procedure
NOTE: The function of the solenoid valves can be checked with Porsche System Tester 2 (drive links/solenoid valve 1/2/3). The triggering contact of the valves is perceptible as a clicking sound near the transmission.
1 Check solenoid valve with wiring.
1. Pull off Tiptronic control module connector.
2. 2. Connect ohmmeter to Tiptronic control module connector pin 30 and pin 52 (solenoid valve 2 pin 33 and pin 52, solenoid valve 3 pin 32 and pin 52).
Indication: 34 Ohms ± 10%
2 Check wires from Tiptronic control module to transmission connector for continuity.
1. Additionally disconnect connector on transmission.
2. Connect ohmmeter to Tiptronic control module connector pin 30 and transmission connector pin 8 (solenoid valve 2 pin 33 and pin 9, solenoid valve 3 pin 32 and pin 4).
Indication: 0 ...5 Ohms
If Infinite Ohms is indicated, check wiring harness for crushing and chafing damage.
2 Check wires from Tiptronic control module to transmission connector for short circuit to ground.
1. Connect ohmmeter to Tiptronic control module connector pin 30 and ground (solenoid valve 2 pin 33 and ground).
Indication: Infinite Ohms
If 0 ...5 Ohms is indicated, check wiring harness for crushing and chafing damage.
2 Check wires from Tiptronic control module to transmission connector for short circuit to plus.
1. Switch on ignition.
2. Connect voltmeter to Tiptronic control module connector pin 30 and ground (solenoid valve 2 pin 33 and ground).
Indication: 0 Volt
If battery voltage is indicated, check wiring harness for crushing and chafing damage.
