W209 - Check Navigation Unit (Service Action)
Vehicle Type:
911 Turbo (996)
Model Year:
2002 (2)
Concern:
Navigation unit produces undesired offset pixels on the PCM display.
Information:
This is to inform you of a voluntary Workshop Service Action on a certain number of 2002 model year 911 Turbo (996) vehicles. Porsche AG has initiated this Service Action relating to a programming error in the navigation unit. This causes some pixels on the PCMs display to be offset from each other.
The PCM map display on the affected vehicles must be checked, and depending on the result of the check, the navigation unit must be replaced.
Therefore, we ask that the vehicle's PCM display be checked during the Porsche Owner's next visit to your workshop.
Affected Vehicles:
A total of 23 U.S. vehicles (MY 2002 only) fall within the scope of this Service Action.
Very Important!
Not every vehicle in the below listed range may be affected. Use the ranges below as a general guideline. Refer to Attachment "A" to determine if a particular vehicle is eligible for this service action. Alternatively, the VIN can be checked in the Porsche E-DCS/WWS for confirmation of an open service action (or recall campaign).
