Replacing convertible-top lock
Tools
The following spare parts are required for the repair Replacing convertible-top lock:
INFORMATION:
- Convertible-top lock (version A) is being replaced by (version B).
- When replacing by version B, the adapter cable must be inserted between the wire harness (on the vehicle side) and the convertible-top lock version B.
- New cover for convertible-top lock.
- Include the Driver's Manual enclosure.
- Include Allen key in vehicle only for vehicles without hardtop.
Removing convertible-top lock
Removing convertible-top lock (version A)
1. Removing lid
1.1. Insert Allen key (tool kit) -1- into the openings on the convertible-top latch front edge -inset- , and press the lid -2- down and out.
2. Removing convertible-top lock
2.1. Unscrew fastening screw -3- , take off convertible-top lock -4- and disconnect the electric plug connection -5-.
Removing convertible-top lock (version B)
1. Removing cover
1.1. Pull off cover -B- from convertible-top lock -A-.
2. Removing convertible-top lock
2.1. Unscrew fastening screw -3- . Remove convertible-top lock -A- and disconnect electric plug connections -6-.
Installing convertible-top lock
Installing convertible-top lock (version A)
1. Installing convertible-top lock
1.1. Join electrical plug connection -5- , position convertible-top lock -4- on roof frame 1, fasten with the fastening screws -3- and coat with high-strength screw locking compound.
2. Installing lid
2.1. Press lid -2- into the convertible-top lock on the left and right.
Installing convertible-top lock (version B)
1. Inserting adapter lead
1.1. Insert adapter lead -D- into the convertible-top lock.
2. Installing convertible-top lock
2.1. Join electrical plug connection -6- , position convertible-top lock -A- on roof frame 1, fasten with the fastening screws -3- and coat with high-strength screw locking compound.
3. Installing cover
3.1. Slide cover -B- from rear over the convertible-top lock -A- . The cover -B- must engage centred in the guide -arrow- . Press cover upward on the front edge and engage.
4. Insert for the Driver's Manual
4.1. Include the insert for the Driver's Manual in the country's language of the Driver's Manual.
5. Including the Allen key
5.1. Include the Allen key in the oddments tray between the front seats.
Tightening torques
Tools and materials
