Removing And Installing Bulb For Auxiliary Headlight (High Beam Headlight) As From Model Year '02

Removing bulb for auxiliary headlight

INFORMATION: The bulb for auxiliary headlights (high beam headlight/headlight flasher) is located beneath the lamp for dipped beam/high beam headlight.

1. Switch off light. Remove main headlight







2. Unscrew fastening screws -A-, press both releases -B- and remove the rear cap -1-.







3. Turn the bulb holder -arrow-. Turn counter-clockwise on the left headlight and clockwise on the right headlight. Take the bulb holder out of the headlight housing.
4. Pull both releases of the plug -arrows- apart. Pull plug out of the bulb holder.

Installing bulb for auxiliary headlight
1. Engage electrical plug connection -arrow-.







2. Guide the bulb holder into the headlight housing and turn clockwise on the left headlight and counter-clockwise on the right headlight. Ensure correct seating.







3. Put the cap -1- into position and press down until both locking tabs -B- engage. Screw in both fastening screws -A-. Tightening torque: 4 Nm (3 ftlb.).
4. Install main headlight and perform a function test.
