Pressure Regulator 1 - Open Circuit/Short Circuit to Ground, Short Circuit to B+
P1813
Pressure regulator 1 - Open circuit/short circuit to ground, short circuit to B+
Function
Pressure regulators (DR) are pressure-control solenoid valves. They transform an electric current into a proportional hydraulic pressure.
Diagnosis condition
- Ignition on

Wiring diagram
Diagnosis procedure
1 Check pressure regulator with wiring.
1. Pull off Tiptronic control module connector.
2. Connect ohmmeter to Tiptronic control module connector:
DR1 = pin 52 and pin 5
DR2 = pin 52 and pin 1
DR3 = pin 52 and pin 29
DR4 = pin 52 and pin 4
Indication: 5... 10 Ohms
2 Check wires from Tiptronic control module to transmission connector for continuity.
1. Additionally disconnect connector on transmission.
2. Connect ohmmeter to Tiptronic control module connector and transmission connector:
DR1 = pin 5 and pin 2
DR2 = pin 1 and pin 3
DR3 = pin 29 and pin 7
DR4 = pin 4 and pin 11
Indication: 0... 5 Ohms
If infinity Ohm is indicated, check wiring harness for crushing and chafing damage.
2 Check wires from Tiptronic control module to transmission connector for short circuit to ground.
1. Connect ohmmeter to Tiptronic control module connector and ground:
DR1 = pin 5 and ground
DR2 = pin 1 and ground
DR3 = pin 29 and ground
DR4 = pin 4 and ground
Indication: infinity Ohm
If 0... 5 Ohms is displayed, check wiring harness for crushing and chafing damage.
2 Check wires from Tiptronic control module to transmission connector for short circuit to B+.
1. Switch on ignition.
2. Connect voltmeter to Tiptronic control module connector and ground.
DR1 = pin 5 and ground
DR2 = pin 1 and ground
DR3 = pin 29 and ground
DR4 = pin 4 and ground
Indication: 0 Volt
If battery voltage is indicated, check wiring harness for crushing and chafing damage.
