Adjusting tailpipe




1. Unscrew exhaust tailpipe. To do so, unscrew the fastening nut (wrench size 16) until the tail pipe can be moved in the flange area.




2. Adjust tailpipe until the upper edge of the tail pipe is horizontal and sits parallel to the rear spoiler.




3. The tail pipe must have an even distance to the rear panel. The dimension -A- should be 25 to 26 mm.




4. Tighten the fastening nuts of the tailpipe damp to 30 Nm (22 ftlb.).




Adjusting tailpipe (as of MY '02)




1. Unscrew exhaust tailpipe. To do so, unscrew the fastening nut (wrench size 16) until the tail pipe can be moved in the flange area.

2. Adjust tail pipe until the upper edge of the tail pipe is horizontal and sits parallel to the rear spoiler.




3. The tailpipe must have an even distance to the rear panel. The dimension -A- must be 22 mm.




4. Tighten the fastening nuts of the tailpipe clamp to 30 Nm (22 ftlb.).




5. Loosen the tightening nut on the underside of the tailpipe.




6. Move the tailpipe until the projection from the body -Dimension B- is 7 to 10 mm.




7. Tighten tightening nut onto the underside of the tailpipe to 23 Nm (17 ftlb.).
