New Microswitch For Front Lid Lock

Vehicle Type: 911 Carrera (996)

Model Year: As of 1999 (X)

Concern: The microswitch located on the front trunk latch sticks intermittently.

Information: In certain climatic conditions (cold or wet), the microswitch located on the bottom part of the front lid latch may stick. This could cause the following conditions:

- The light will not illuminate when the trunk is opened.
- The light will not go out when the trunk is closed. This could lead to dead batteries.
- The alarm horn will sound when locking the vehicle.

The microswitch has been installed in vehicles produced from the middle of February 2000, and can be identified by a yellow or blue paint dot on the microswitch.

In case of complaints, the new version microswitch can be installed on earlier vehicles.
