Removing And Installing Throttle Potentiometer (Engine Installed) - GT3

Removing throttle potentiometer
1. Undo air conditioning compressor and set it aside with the hoses connected so that coolant cannot escape.

CAUTION: Do not lower engine too far.

To avoid damage to the hoses, lines and engine, the engine must only be lowered by approx. 30 mm - 40 mm:

NOTE: Observe installation position of the components.

2. Lower engine. Secure the engine against falling down with a workshop jack. Undo both hexagon nuts on the engine mounts on the right and left. The engine can now be lowered by 30 mm - 40 mm







3. Pull the two oil container vent hoses off the throttle body. To do so, undo the screw-type hose clamps and pull off the hoses -arrows-.







4. Pull off plug of the throttle potentiometer -arrow 1-.

5. Pull plug off the idle speed control -arrow- and set it aside.


NOTE: When carrying out the next step, pay attention to the length and stretching of the hoses belonging to the throttle body.







6. Undo the two inner screw-type hose clamps -arrows- and turn the throttle body upward.
7. Remove the oil filter housing.







8. Unscrew the two cross-recess screws -arrows- for this purpose. Carefully take off the throttle potentiometer.

Installing throttle potentiometer

NOTE: Always replace the sealing ring of the throttle potentiometer.







1. Push the throttle potentiometer onto the throttle axle. Put on and tighten the two cross-recess screws.
2. Install the oil filter housing.







3. Move the throttle body into position and fasten. Tighten the two inner screw-type hose clamps -arrows- for this purpose.







4. Push on plug of the idle speed control -arrow-.







5. Push on plug of the throttle potentiometer -arrow 1-.

6. Push the two oil container vent hoses -arrows- onto the throttle body and fasten the screw-type hose clamps.
7. Fasten the engine. To do this, lift the engine with the jack and put on and tighten both fastening nuts.
Tightening torque 85 Nm (63 ft.lb.)

8. Install air conditioning compressor.
