Removing And Installing Intake Distributor (Engine Removed) - GT3

Removing intake distributor

NOTE: Observe hose routing plan and position of the components.

1. Undo oil container. Remove three a/f 13 screws -arrows- for this purpose.

2. Unscrew front oil line of the oil container -arrow-. To do so, unscrew the a/f 32 union nuts. Always counter with an a/f 32 open-ended wrench when doing this.

3. Unscrew side oil line at the top of the oil container -arrow-. To do so, unscrew the a/f 32 union nuts. Always counter with an a/f 32 open-ended wrench when doing this.

4. Pull both vent hoses of the oil tank off the left side of the throttle body. Unscrew the screw-type hose clamps -arrows- for this purpose.

5. Unscrew combination holder of the vent hoses. Unscrew the two M6 screws -arrows- for this purpose.

6. Pull off plug of the tank vent valve -arrow-.

7. Pull off plug of the oil temperature sensor -arrow-.

8. Unclip vent hose of the carbon canister -arrow-.

9. Unscrew M6 screw on the bracket of the fuel return line -arrow-.

10. Undo screw-type hose clamp of the vent line to the oil cooler -arrow- and pull out the vent line.

11. Pull off plug of the idle speed positioner -arrow-.

12. Unscrew holder of the oil filler neck. Unscrew three M6 screws -arrows- for this purpose. Lay ground cable aside.

13. Unscrew union nut of the oil hose on the oil pressure sensor -1- with an a/f 19 open-ended wrench. Always counter at the hexagon of the oil filler neck holder -2- with an a/f 22 open-ended wrench when doing this.

14. Pull off plug of the engine compartment temperature sensor -arrow-.
15. Undo the upper six screw-type hose clamps on the rubber sleeves of the intake distributors. For easier access, pull off the plug of the hydraulic valve for the camshaft actuator.
16. Carefully pull the intake distributor off the rubber sleeves. Lever it off with a screwdriver if necessary.

NOTE: Do not "yank" up the intake distributor; look out for any connected lines and plug connections.

17. Carefully lift the intake distributor. Pull off the vacuum lines -arrows-, the plug of the throttle potentiometer -1- and the tuning flap vacuum valve -2- under the throttle body. Do not forget the vacuum hose of vacuum reservoir. Remove intake distributor.

Installing intake distributor

NOTE:
- Seal all intake openings on the rubber sleeves (foreign objects).
- Check rubber sleeves for signs of damage or cracking and replace if necessary.

1. Apply a light coating of soapy water inside the rubber sleeves to facilitate fitting of the intake distributor.

2. Carefully place the intake distributor onto the rubber sleeves. Push on the vacuum lines -arrows-, the plug of the throttle potentiometer -1- and of the tuning flap vacuum valve -2- under the throttle body. Do not forget the vacuum hose of the vacuum reservoir. Push on the intake distributor without tilting it out of position.
3. Tighten the upper six screw-type hose clamps of the rubber sleeve, then push on the plug of the hydraulic valve for the camshaft actuator again.

4. Push on plug of the engine compartment temperature sensor -arrow-.

5. Put on oil hose of the oil pressure sensor and tighten the union nut -1- with an a/f 19 open-ended wrench. Always counter at the hexagon of the oil filler neck holder -2- with an a/f 22 open-ended wrench when doing this.

6. Fit holder of the oil filler neck. Tighten the three M6 screws -arrows- for this purpose. Do not forget the ground cable.
Tightening torque 10 Nm (7.5 ft.lb.)

7. Push on plug of the idle speed positioner -arrow-.

8. Push vent line of the oil cooler -arrow- onto the hose and tighten the screw-type hose clamp.

9. Position M6 screw on the holder of the fuel return line -arrow- and fasten the line.
Tightening torque 10 Nm (7.5 ft.lb.)

10. Push the two vent hoses of the oil container onto the two pipes of the throttle body and tighten the clamps -arrows-.

11. Clip in vent hose of the carbon canister -arrow-.

12. Put on combination holder of the vent hoses and tighten the two M6 screws -arrows-.
Tightening torque 10 Nm (7.5 ft.lb.)

13. Push on plug of the tank vent valve -arrow-.

14. Push on plug of the oil temperature sensor -arrow-.

NOTE: Always counter with an a/f 32 open-ended wrench when fastening the oil lines of the oil tank.

15. Position front oil line at the top of the oil tank and tighten -arrow-.To do so, tighten the a/f 32 union nut. Always counter with an a/f 32 open-ended wrench when doing this.

16. Position side oil line at the top of the oil tank and tighten -arrow-.To do so, tighten the a/f 32 union nut. Always counter with an a/f 32 open-ended wrench when doing this.

17. Fasten oil container. Put on and tighten the three a/f 13 screws -arrows- for this purpose.
Tightening torque 23 Nm (17 ft.lb.)
