DME 7.8
P0717
91, Stall Speed, Transmission Input
The ratio of transmission input speed to engine speed is monitored
Diagnosis conditions
- ATF level OK
- ATF temperature > 60 degree C
- Selector lever position 'D', 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th gear
- Gear engagement completed
- Output shaft speed < 641 rpm
Possible fault cause
- ATF level too low or too high
- Short circuit to ground/B+/mutual short circuit or open circuit in the circuit to the control module
- Faulty shielding of signal lines
- Sensor for transmission input speed (turbine sensor) is faulty
- Torque converter clutch is slipping
- Torque converter is faulty
- Tiptronic control module is faulty
Affected pins
Pin 16, pin 44 and pin 23
Diagnosis/troubleshooting
DANGER: Danger of scalding by not ATF.
Hot ATF can cause burns if it comes into contact with the skin or clothing.
- Drain ATF only when cold.
- Wear suitable protective clothing.
CAUTION:
Risk of damage to the transmission input speed sensor (turbine sensor) if the hydraulic control unit is laid on its back when removed.
- When the hydraulic control unit is removed, place it only with its bottom side on a suitable surface.
