Fault Code 9150
Fault Code 9150
Spoiler control
Diagnostic conditions
- Vehicle speed higher than 120 km/h (75 mph) and then lower than 60 km/h (37.5 mph)
- Manual actuation
NOTE:
- At vehicle speeds above 120 km/h (75 mph) the spoiler is extended and retracts again when the speed falls below 60 km/h (37.5 mph). This is controlled via the instrument cluster.
- The instrument cluster receives feedback regarding the status of the spoiler by means of microswitches, which are attached to the spoiler control.
- The instrument cluster expects feedback concerning the latest status of the spoiler after the speed exceeds or falls below the limit and after the relevant activation. If a change in status is not registered despite the control, fault code 9150 is stored and the warning text Failure of spoiler control appears on the display.
- Depending on the software version of the instrument cluster, only the warning text is displayed and fault code 9150 is not stored.
- The warning text is issued depending on the instrument cluster version after model year 2003.
NOTE: For safety reasons, if the PSM control module fails, the spoiler extends as soon as the ignition is switched on.
Possible cause of fault
- Fuse D7 faulty
- Relay faulty
- Microswitch fault
- Short circuit to ground/open circuit in the wiring between instrument cluster and relay carrier or spoiler control
- Spoiler drive faulty
NOTE: The relays are in the rear area of the relay carrier. The spoiler is extended via relay no. 3. The spoiler is retracted via relay no. 9 (see wiring diagram).
Affected pins
Instrument cluster plug A, pin 6, pin 7, pin 22 and pin 23
