Diagnosis of Camshaft Control

Diagnosis Of Camshaft Control (911 Turbo)

The diagnosis of camshaft control checks the camshaft angle.

The diagnostic function is only activated if:
- the engine speed lies in a defined range between 600 and 6,250 rpm,
- the engine temperature lies above its threshold,
- the time after start is long enough,
- the fault flag of the power stage of the camshaft control is not set, and
- the adaptation between camshaft and crankshaft has been performed.

If the desired camshaft position is passive for longer than a given period, and a camshaft angle lies above the threshold for more than 2 crankshaft revolutions, a camshaft control fault (passive position not reached) is assumed.

If the desired camshaft position is active for longer than a given time, and the camshaft angle lies below a threshold for more than 2 crankshaft revolutions, a camshaft control fault (active position not reached) is assumed.
