Removing And Installing Motor For Rear Spoiler

INFORMATION: The motor is screwed to the rear spoiler drive.

Remove rear spoiler drive. Refer to Removing and installing rear spoiler.

Switch ignition off and remove ignition key.

Removing motor for rear spoiler

1. Undo the three fastening screws -1- on the Motor.







INFORMATION: If the motor is exchanged, the leads from the motor to the microswitch must be nipped off and crimped to the leads of the new motor.

2. Nip off the motor leads to the microswitch to a suitable length.

Removing spur gear and axle:







3. Pull out axle -A-.
4. Spur gear -B- can be removed.

Installing motor for rear spoiler

Installing spur gear and axle:







1. Insert spur gear -B- and push in axle -A-.
2. Position the motor and screw tight with the three fastening screws -1-.







3. Join wires using crimp connector and crimping tool.
- Cut off leads to different lengths (due to the shrink connection).
- Slide shrink-fit hose over the leads.
- Strip 10 mm of insulation off the wires.
- Connect wires with crimp connectors (do not confuse colors of the individual wires).
- Shrink shrink-fit hoses with a hot-air gun. It is essential that all wires are watertight.
- Wrap commercially available PVC tape all around the area of the connection points.
