Removing And Installing Hydraulic Control Unit







NOTE: The engine must not be started with the ATF pan removed or without ATF filling.

Removing The Hydraulic Control Unit
1. Remove ATF filter.







2. Pull off securing clasp for wiring harness plug.







3. Pull off plugs for transmission speed sensors.







4. Unscrew indicated fastening screws -arrows- for hydraulic control unit.
5. Take hydraulic control unit off transmission and follow up wiring harness plug.

NOTE: Do not lay hydraulic control unit on the sensor for transmission input speed. This will damage the sensor.

6. The hydraulic control unit can now be further disassembled, as described in the abridged instructions.

Installing The Hydraulic Control Unit
1. Thinly coat toroidal sealing ring for wiring harness plug with Vaseline and insert plug into transmission housing.







2. Carefully put on hydraulic control unit and insert the pin of the detent disk -1- into the groove of the selector valve -2-.
3. First tighten fastening screws for hydraulic control unit hand tight. Then tighten from inside outwards.

Tightening torque: 8 Nm (6 ftlb.)

4. Attach securing clasp for wiring harness plug and let holding tongue engage.
5. Install ATF filter.
