Removing and Installing Engine for Sliding Roof







Removing engine for sliding roof
Remove the ignition key and switch off the radio.







1. Unfold glasses compartment and unscrew the two fastening screws.
2. Remove the roof console in the area of the sliding roof switch and allow it to hang down to the front.







3. Activate electrical connector on the interior sensor and disconnect.

NOTE: The number of plug connections can vary according to the vehicle equipment. Disconnect all plug connections to remove the roof console.







4. Press and disconnect electrical connections for the conductor plate.
5. Remove roof console on the mounting points in the roof liner to the left and right.







6. Unscrew the three fastening screws from the engine.
7. Press electrical connectors -a- together and pull apart.

Installing engine for sliding roof







1. Press in the electric plug until it clicks into place.
2. Position engine and secure with the fastening screws. Tightening torque 3.5 Nm (2.5 ftlb.).







3. Attach roof console to the mounting point in the roof liner to the left and right and connect all electrical plug connections.







4. Press in the electric plug for the conductor plate until it clicks into place.







5. Fold roof console upwards, clip into the roof liner and tighten with the two fastening screws. Close glasses compartment.
